Towards the end of last year, I started planning my first photoshoot. The main objective was to have my handmade earrings photographed but as my ideas went on, I wanted this shoot to be more than that. I wanted it to be a celebration of the wonderful women in my life whom have supported me and my ideas for the previous 5 months.
So, I searched for a local photographer and found the wonderful Chris Grey. We chatted over email, I explained what I needed, my vision and the look and feel I wanted the photographs to portrait. I loved his style as soon as I saw his work so I had no doubt in my mind he was the guy for the job.
I then searched for local florists and remembered seeing a super talented florist at the Winmalee Markets I had a stall at the month prior. I contacted Cass from Bloom Mountains Designs and asked if she could create a floral headpiece for the shoot. Cass is a bright, friendly and happy woman, a cool chick who knows how to bring an idea to life. I then asked if she would like to be in the shoot as a model, in which she accepted.
So, having these 2 important factors ticked off my list, I started asking my friends if they would like to be involved. It was such an exciting process to plan. I asked the girls to pick an outfit that made them feel wonderful and designed earrings specifically for them.
The day came around quickly and we all met up at the Nepean River in Western Sydney ready for a fun day of chatting, laughing, feeling and looking beautiful. Being surrounded and supported by so many wonderful friends lifted my mind and spirit in ways you only dream of. I can’t thank these ladies enough for that day, it is certainly one to remember. Tara x
